Barbin hosts House Democratic Policy Committee forum on groundbreaking traumatic brain scan technology
JOHNSTOWN, Oct. 12 – State Rep. Bryan Barbin, D-Cambria/Somerset, chaired today’s House Democratic Policy Committee forum at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown, John P. Murtha Center for Public Service and National Competitiveness on groundbreaking traumatic brain scan technology.
“Today we hosted a community forum to show the public brain scan technology that identifies invisible wounds suffered by our returning troops,” Barbin explained.
The committee viewed a video presentation by Dr. Walt Schneider chief scientist of the innovative technology from the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Ava Puccio, co-director of Team TBI (traumatic brain injury), which provides integrative medical treatment.
State legislators, veterans advocates and students discussed the technology and Barbin’s H.B. 1784 which would provide additional funds to allow more veterans to access this new technology.
