Bizzarro appointed to House Subcommittee on Courts
HARRISBURG, April 3 – State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, announced today that he has been appointed to serve on the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Courts for the 2019-2020 legislative session.
The subcommittee investigates issues and holds public hearings relating to the operation of Pennsylvania’s court system.
Bizzarro, who has served on the House Judiciary Committee since 2015, said he is excited to take on the new role.
"Our state courts handle most disputes governing our daily lives, from resolving civil matters to determining criminal sentences of offenders, so it’s essential that they run smoothly,” Bizzarro said. “I’m honored to sit on the subcommittee, which helps ensure that our courts have the resources they need to serve the interests of justice as efficiently and effectively as possible. The subcommittee also plays a central role in investigating possible crimes or abuse of power by public officials so that the Judiciary Committee can determine whether impeachment is appropriate.”
In addition to serving on the Judiciary Committee, Bizzarro serves on the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness, Consumer Affairs and Insurance committees. He also serves as House chief deputy whip and as vice chairman of the Northwest Delegation.
