Bizzarro to host 'Tips for Tots' to benefit children

State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, is participating in “Tips for Tots” this year, which is an event that benefits the Toys for Tots Christmas program.

Bizzarro is one of many superstar stewards at the Bourbon Barrel for an event from

5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2.

“People act from the heart, not the head so giving is a personal act of kindness to make less fortunate children happy this season. This wonderful program brings Christmas to our local children with a message of hope and compassion,” Bizzarro said.

The event features a buffet with an admission donation of $10 or a $5 gift donation. The event is supported by local merchants and businesses in Erie.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

The group’s mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys from now until December and distribute the toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks and it was launched as a national campaign.
