Rep. Ryan Bizzarro today began his third term in the state House and elected vice chairman of Northwest Delegation
State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, today began his third term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where he will continue to represent the 3rd Legislative District in the 2017-18 legislative session.
“I want to thank everyone for the great sense of responsibility they have bestowed upon me,” Bizzarro said. “My team and I hit the ground running in 2013 and have not stopped. We look forward to continuing serving the community and Commonwealth.”
Bizzarro was elected by members of the House Democratic Northwest Delegation to serve as their vice chairman.
“I am both honored to represent the constituents in my district during this crucial legislative session and to help lead the delegation,” Bizzarro said. “There are many important issues affecting the people I represent that the legislature needs to address.”
Among the bills Bizzarro will be reintroducing this term include legislation that would establish same-day voter registration in Pennsylvania and stricter sentences for crimes against the elderly.
Also, legislation designed by Bizzarro would direct the state Health Department to establish regulations to certify community paramedicine providers and allow them to expand their services. Under the proposal, emergency medical services providers would be able to deliver care to patients in their homes.
Other Bizzarro priorities include protecting the elderly from abuse by those acting as power of attorney, providing sufficient public school funding, providing more services for children and helping veterans with services.
In addition, Bizzarro said he will be reintroducing Libre’s bill this session. The legislation would include stricter penalties and requirements so animals are not returned to their abusers.
The 3rd Legislative District is composed of McKean and Washington townships, Edinboro and McKean boroughs, and part of Millcreek Township.
