Bradford sworn in as state representative

HARRISBURG, Jan. 3 – State Rep. Matt Bradford today was sworn into office for a fifth term as representative for the 70th Legislative District during a ceremony in the Capitol.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives swearing-in corresponds with the first Tuesday in January, every two years. This year is Pennsylvania’s 201st legislative session.

“As state representative, I am eager to represent my district’s voice in Harrisburg, as well as here at home,” he said. “My office doors always are open, and I look forward to interacting with as many neighbors, friends and constituents as possible.”

Bradford said that he is looking forward to another legislative session, as well, when he will focus on supporting sensible gun safety laws, increasing education funding and helping to pass a sustainable, long-term state budget that benefits all Pennsylvanians.

“I am aware of the challenges facing Pennsylvania today, but I am optimistic because of the great strides we’ve made since the great recession,” said Bradford, D-Montgomery. “Going forward, I’m looking forward to working across the aisle and affecting positive change for our commonwealth.”
