Home heating assistance is still available

Will you need help paying your heating bills now that the winter is here? The state’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is here to help with energy bills.  

The program provides grants based on household income, family size, type of heating fuel and region to individuals and families across the commonwealth.

I am encouraging people who qualify for the program and that includes renters, homeowners,  and individuals who have a disability to submit their applications to help pay their heating bills.

Cash grants help with heating bills and are sent directly to your utility company or fuel provider and are credited to your bill. Crisis grants help with heating emergencies, such as a furnace failure or unexpected fuel shortages.

The household income limits to qualify vary according to family size, and increase $6,240 for each additional person, as seen below:
