Brown begins fifth term representing 190th Legislative District

HARRISBURG, Jan. 3 – State Rep. Vanessa Lowery Brown was sworn in for a fifth term to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives during a ceremony at the state Capitol today.

The ceremony marked the beginning of the 2017-18 legislative session. The state constitution mandates that the legislature convene at noon the first Tuesday in January.

“I am so honored to be surrounded by my family, friends and constituents for my swearing-in day,” Brown said. “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for them and I will continue to work hard and be their voice in the 190th Legislative District and in Harrisburg.”

Brown said some of her legislative interests include improving education, curbing gun violence, job creation and increasing job-training opportunities.
