Burns teams up with Cuddles for Kids for holiday donations

EBENSBURG, Nov. 14 – State Rep. Frank Burns is inviting residents to drop off donations of new stuffed animals, children’s books and toys at any of his offices to benefit Cuddles for Kids, a Cambria County-based charity that provides comfort items to hospitalized children.

Cuddles for Kids was founded by 9-year-old Conner Hagins in 2006 to provide stuffed animals, books and toys to hospitals and children’s advocacy groups.  Conner’s goal is to ease the fears of children in the hospital by giving them something to cuddle during the moments their parents and loved ones can’t be with them.

Burns said donated items stay local, benefitting children throughout western Pennsylvania.

Burns, D-Cambria, is accepting donations at his offices in Lower Yoder Township, Ebensburg, Patton and Portage through Dec. 19.

“I’ve been proud to support Conner’s toy drive for the past several years,” Burns said.  “I think it's important to support local charities, like Cuddles for Kids, especially around the holidays.”
Donations of new stuffed animals, books, puzzles, games and coloring books can be dropped off at the following office locations:

  • 535 Fairfield Ave., Johnstown (Lower Yoder Township), PA 15906
  • 119 S. Center St., Ebensburg, PA 15931
  • 112-A Munster Road, Portage, PA 15946
  • 405 Park Ave., Patton, PA 16668
