Rep. Carroll and state Sen. John Blake speak with members of the Duryea Borough Council to discuss the pending demolition of the former Silk Mill on Jones Street in Duryea. The dilapidated building has been an eyesore and neighborhood safety hazard for decades. Carroll and Blake successfully worked with Duryea officials to secure state funding to complete the demolition and prepare the property for single-family building lots. Demolition is expected to begin within 45 days.

Mike Carroll and Ken Smith share five local schools’ good news, which came in the form of $29,000 in scholarships made possible by a donation from Unison Health Plan Pennsylvania through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program.
