Costa responds to Wolf’s inaugural budget address
HARRISBURG, March 3 – State Rep. Dom Costa, D-Allegheny, released the following statement today following Gov. Tom Wolf’s 2015-16 budget proposal:
“Governor Wolf opened the dialog for the new budget and provided an innovative approach to handling a major structural budget deficit. These are good starting points to get Pennsylvania moving in a positive direction and, hopefully, this has the potential to generate discussions that will reinvigorate opportunities for the middle class and our economic climate.
“The proposed property tax relief will benefit seniors and hardworking families, and certainly will allow more families to consider purchasing homes.
“Reinvesting in education and improving funding to Pennsylvania schools will help better prepare our children for the jobs of the future. I am excited to see investment at all levels of the state’s education system.
“The governor makes a sound effort to hold businesses financially accountable to the commonwealth by closing the Delaware loophole. The hardworking people of Pennsylvania can’t dodge their taxes and big corporations should no longer be able to do so.
“I look forward to being a part of the ongoing discussion to strengthen our state.”
