Davidson public safety forum to address opiate addiction
UPPER DARBY, Nov. 2 – State Rep. Margo Davidson, D-Delaware, is hosting her third annual public safety forum to address the issue of opiate addiction from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at Lansdowne Presbyterian Church, 140 N. Lansdowne Ave., Lansdowne.
Davidson noted that in 2015, 202 people in Delaware County died from drug overdoses, an increase of 41 percent from 2014.
“The scourge of drug addiction is affecting our public safety,” Davidson said. “We need to come together as a community to address this problem and my public safety forum will begin that discussion.”
The event will feature important discussions from members of local law enforcement, drug and alcohol treatment centers, mental health non-profits and more.

Dr. Hayley Nelson - psychology professor, Delaware County Community College, addictive behavior specialist
Joel Shafer Harris - Delaware County Department of Human Services
Dr. Kevin Titze and Ronelle Yanuzzi - Holcomb Behavioral Health
Local police department officials
The event also includes exhibitors from a number of organizations who can assist individuals and families fight the growing pandemic.
