Davis announces $213,155 grant for local sewer upgrades

HARRISBURG, Sept. 18 – State Rep. Tina Davis, D-Bucks, announced that Commonwealth Financing Authority has awarded a $213,155 grant to the Borough of Penndel for sewer upgrades.

The CFA approved the grant from the PA Small Water and Sewer Program.

Penndel Borough was awarded funds for improvements to the sanitary sewer lines within the Borough’s collection system. The system has undersized sanitary sewer lines that have caused sewer overflows. This project will increase the line to provide consistent diameter pipe size. It will also include replacement of the 56-year-old manholes and install watertight frames and lids. The total project cost is $480,289.

“Supporting our state’s infrastructure is important to our residents and community as a whole to function,” said Davis, D-Bucks. “Congratulations to Penndel Borough for securing funds for this project and to the state for recognizing the value of this work.”

The CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development, established in 2004 to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
