Davis: Free shred event April 23 at Ben Franklin Middle School

LEVITTOWN, April 14 – State Rep. Tina Davis, D-Bucks, is sponsoring a free community shredding event Saturday, April 23, for the safe disposal of unwanted, confidential documents.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon April 23 at the Ben Franklin Middle School, 6403 Mill Creek Road, Levittown.

"This is the time of year when people are cleaning out their closets and drawers and may have come across sensitive records that they would like to dispose of, but don’t know how," Davis said. "Shredding is a great way to dispose of the documents in an environmentally friendly way and also protect your identity from fraud."

Unwanted items that should be shredded include credit card statements and applications, bank statements, canceled checks, income tax information, insurance records, and retirement or pension fund information.

"The event is free for residents in the 141st Legislative District, and documents will be shredded on-site and recycled by bonded and uniformed personnel," Davis said. "The event is for personal documents only."

A limit of five boxes or bags per person is requested; no businesses, please. The 141st District includes Hulmeville and Penndel and parts of Bristol and Middletown townships.

More information is available by calling Davis’ office at 215-785-3605.
