Davis announces September Senior Expo, shred event

BRISTOL, Aug. 30 – State Rep. Tina Davis, D-Bucks, announced that she will sponsor her annual Senior Expo and shredding event in September.

Davis’ sixth annual Senior Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 8, at Lower Bucks Hospital, 501 Bath Road, Bristol. Her shred event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Ben Franklin Middle School, 6401 Mill Creek Road, Levittown.

The free Senior Expo will feature representatives from state, local and county agencies and vendors who provide services to seniors. Attendees will be able to receive a free flu shot if they present their Medicare card, and health screenings also will be available.

"The Senior Expo enables people to get vaccinations when they are most effective -- before winter sets in and before flu season hits full stride,” Davis said. “The expo also links residents with agencies geared to assist older citizens at a fun and friendly event."

The free Sept. 17 shredding event enables local residents to dispose safely and securely of unneeded personal papers containing confidential information such as health or military records, Social Security numbers or financial information. There is a five-box limit per person.

"Consumer fraud and identity theft are becoming rampant in our communities," Davis said. "Shredding sensitive documents is the best way for consumers to protect themselves against such crimes."

Constituents may call Davis’ offices at 215-785-3605 or 215-752-6760 for more information on either event.
