DeLissio to host 79th Town Hall meeting Nov. 15

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 2 – State Rep. Pamela A. DeLissio, D-Montgomery/Phila., will hold her 79th Town Hall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 in the Wolcoff Auditorium at Roxborough Memorial Hospital, 5800 Ridge Ave., 19128.

There will be plenty of free parking available in the Jamestown Lot. The hospital is on Bus Route 9.

DeLissio will focus on “Unfinished Business” in the Pennsylvania House and how the makeup of the Pennsylvania legislature contributes to this unfinished business. A review of some of the most impactful legislation that did not become law in Harrisburg this session will be discussed. Much of the legislation that will be discussed has languished for years in Harrisburg.

DeLissio said that it is imperative to adopt a strategy early in the next session to ensure that legislation to improve how votes are taken and to mitigate the impact of gerrymandering – as just two examples – make it to the governor’s desk.

“I have conducted town halls during my entire time in office, and I always welcome new people who may have not yet attended,” she said. “The location rotates throughout the district, and it is great to see folks from all corners of the district attend. The dialogue is always civil and thought-provoking, and I always look forward to the discussion.”

Anya Rose from Manayunk, a first-timer to a town hall meeting in June, said following that month’s meeting, “That was so incredibly informative. I think everyone should go to these meetings. You will learn a lot. What issues are being discussed? What’s worth fighting for? What can we be hopeful about? What are other people in your area concerned about? I can’t urge you enough! Go!”
