DeLissio to host APPRISE counselor during Medicare annual open enrollment period
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 5 – State. Rep. Pamela DeLissio, D-Montgomery/Phila., will offer four sessions with an APPRISE counselor in her district office through the fall open enrollment period for Medicare, which takes place from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
APPRISE, a program of the state Department of Aging, is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help older Pennsylvanians with Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicaid and long-term care insurance.
DeLissio’s office will hold sessions on Oct. 17, Oct. 30, Nov. 13 and Nov. 28. The counselor will be available from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
“Meeting with an APPRISE counselor is a good way to learn more about the various health care plans and make sure you have the best plan to meet your budget and suit your needs,” said DeLissio. “This is a valuable program, and I’m glad to be able to connect my older constituents to this resource.”
DeLissio has offered an APPRISE counselor in her office monthly since 2011 to assist with Medicare questions.
