DeLissio to host Policy Pow-Wow on sexual harassment, assault Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 9 – State Rep. Pamela A. DeLissio will host a Policy Pow-Wow to discuss sexual harassment and sexual assault at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in her district office at 6511 Ridge Ave.

The emergence of the #metoo hashtag on social media was to give people a sense of the magnitude of this issue and the conversation for the "Pam’s Policy Pow-Wow" will focus on the prevalence of such behaviors in the workplace.

Attendance is limited to 25 participants. Those interested in attending should call 215-482-8726 or email to make a reservation.

The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission will be discussed as a resource for assistance. The PAHRC, created by the state Human Relations Act, serves to create, implement and enforce statewide policy relating to sexual harassment and assault in the workplace.

“I am facilitating this discussion to gather input from all constituents, but also from those who may be the victims of sexual assault or harassment,” said DeLissio, D-Montgomery/Phila.

A moderator with extensive corporate human resources experience will be in attendance.

DeLissio has held a series of Policy Pow-Wows covering a wide range of topics for in-depth conversations with her constituents. All of the previous discussions have provided a range of input and opinion, clearly reflecting the diversity of the district, she said. This is her sixth Pow-Wow.
