Rep. Tony DeLuca of Allegheny County talks with residents of the Schuylkill Manor assisted living facility in Pottsville about legislation that would create an Office of Consumer Insurance Advocate. Rep. DeLuca joins Sen. Mike O’Pake and other state lawmakers in welcoming volunteers of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to the state Capitol. The organization held a news conference and rally as part of its annual Mission Day to increase patient awareness of cancer clinical trials. DeLuca is the prime sponsor of legislation that would require insurance companies to cover the cost of routine care for patients enrolled in cancer clinical trials.
