Rep. Bill DeWeese
50th Legislative District
Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties

The Marcellus Shale gas formation underlies approximately 2/3 of the Commonwealth (54 of 67 counties) at a depth of 5,000 to 8,000 feet and is believed to hold trillions of cubic feet of natural gas. Rep. DeWeese believes the burgeoning natural gas drilling industry that is rampant across the state can provide needed financial aid without a cost to local taxpayers.
