Rep. George receives the Legion of Honor Humanitarian Award from Larry Babbits, national director of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to the memory of four World War II chaplains who went down with the American troop ship Dorchester when it was sunk by a German torpedo in 1943. Rep. George received the honor for his consistent service to and voting record on behalf of veterans. Thomas Weaver, deputy secretary of administration for the Pennsylvania Department of State, congratulates Rep. George after the Clearfield County lawmaker was sworn in as a member of Pennsylvania’s Sustainable Water Infrastructure Task Force. Gov. Edward G. Rendell signed an executive order in early 2008 creating the high-level task force and charged it with determining what is needed to ensure that Pennsylvania can maintain water and wastewater infrastructure in light of federal funding cuts.
