GOVERNMENT REFORM News Release

One-Chamber Legislature - House Bill 918 would merge the 203 House seats and 50 Senate seats into a smaller, single chamber with 201 seats serving staggered four-year terms.
 
Elimination of lieutenant governor - House Bill 919 would amend the state constitution to eliminate the position of lieutenant governor and transfer the office's limited duties to other state officials.
 
Term limits - House Bill 920 would impose a 12 year term limit on state legislators. State representative terms would increase from two years to four years. State senator terms would increase from four to six years.
 
Recall of elected officials - House Bill 921 and House Bill 922 would amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to empower voters to recall state, county and local elected officials.
 
Abuse of office - House Bill 115 would outlaw a public official, a person appointed to serve on a government body or elected official from requiring a public employee to perform an activity not related to the office's official duties.
