Haggerty to recognize veterans, emergency personnel

DUNMORE, May 10 – Area veterans, police officers, firefighters, first responders and their families are invited to join state Rep. Kevin Haggerty and his staff for a Memorial Day weekend cookout and informational program.

“There are so many people who put their life on the line for their neighbors every day, and some who have paid the ultimate price and lost their life,” Haggerty said. “On this Memorial Day weekend, my staff and I would like to offer a small thank you for their service.”

Haggerty said a free cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs with side dishes and drinks will be available from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27 at his Dunmore office, located at the Dunmore Community Center, 1414 Monroe Ave. No RSVP is required to attend.

The state lawmaker said his staff will be on hand with information about various state programs that can benefit veterans, emergency personnel and their families. Representatives of state and county agencies also have been invited.
