Hanna invites residents to third concealed carry seminar

HARRISBURG, May 31 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, is encouraging local residents to participate in his third concealed carry seminar from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 15 at the Mill Hall Fire Company.

Pre-registration is required for the event.

Hanna said this educational seminar will teach responsible gun owners how to apply for and receive a concealed carry permit. “Everyone should learn the facts about Pennsylvania’s concealed carry laws,” said Hanna.

Hanna held seminars in Clinton and Centre counties last year. Both were tremendously successful with over 100 residents attending each event.

The following individuals are scheduled to speak at the June 15 event: Clinton County Sheriff Kerry Stover will talk about concealed carry permits, as well as “open” carry vs. “concealed” carry. Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse will discuss the state’s current concealed carry laws as well as the legal aspects of Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine, which allows a homeowner to use deadly force if necessary when threatened by an intruder. In addition, representatives from the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lock Haven City Police will speak about armed civilians safely interacting with law enforcement. Finally, a representative from the Pennsylvania Game Commission will discuss gaming laws vs. concealed carry pistols used while hunting.

Hanna said there is no charge for this event, but pre-registration is required. Residents may register online at www.pahouse.com/hanna or by calling his Lock Haven office at 570-748-5480.
