Each month, Project Support Our Troops, sponsored by the Veterans of the Vietnam War Post 52 in Meadville, Pa., sends care packages to American troops overseas. My district office serves as a drop-off site for Erie County.

Some of the acceptable items include travel-size bottles of hand lotion, shampoo, hand sanitizer, foot powder, lip balm, eye drops, small cracker or cookie packs, Ramen noodles, Pringles, hard candies, gum, crossword puzzles, pens, writing paper and small tissue packs.

Items may be dropped off any regular business day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. You also may submit the names of soldiers you know who are serving overseas along with their overseas mailing address, and they will be added to the Support Our Troops project mailing list.
