Boyle: $500,000 grant awarded to Fox Chase Cancer Center
PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 2 – State Rep. Kevin Boyle, D-Phila./Montgomery, was joined by state Sen. Tina Tartaglione, Dr. Richard Fisher and Fox Chase Cancer Center leadership to present a $500,000 check to the cancer center from the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.
Boyle said the funding will be used to renovate the Infusion Center and increase the number of chairs available for patients from 36 to 50, doubling the square footage of the building from 9,245 to 18,085 square feet.
“I am honored to have worked with officials from Fox Chase in obtaining this grant. This funding will help deliver efficient and safe patient care, while improving the overall patient experience,” Boyle said.
RACP is administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity.
RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
