Kavulich stands up for students and homeowners, votes ‘no’ on budget

HARRISBURG, June 27 – State Rep. Sid Michaels Kavulich, D-Lackawanna, issued the following statement on why he voted “no” on the state’s 2015-16 budget today.

“When we look at school districts like Carbondale, they’ll lose high-quality early education programs such as full-day kindergarten. When you look at Lakeland, they’ll lose much-needed intervention programs for students in need. For Riverside, they won’t be able to reduce class sizes. Every school district is going to be negatively impacted in some way with this budget passed today, and I simply couldn’t do that to our kids.”
