Philadelphia House Delegation leaders hold a press conference at City Hall in Philadelphia to respond to Governor Shapiro's budget proposal and discuss their priorities in the upcoming budget process.

Pelvic Exam Consent Bill Signing

Reps. ELizabeth Fiedler and Liz Hanbidge hosted a press conference at the state capitol with advocates celebrating the signing of their legislation, House Bill 507. This legislation requires medical facilities in Pennsylvania to obtain consent before performing pelvic, prostate or rectal exams on anesthetized patients. After the press conference, they joined Gov. Shapiro for the ceremonial signing of their bill, which is now Act 31 of 2023.

Afterschool Caucus Rally

The Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool Youth Development Network held an advocacy day at the state capitol. Rep Fiedler, who co-chairs the House Afterschool Caucus with Republican Rep. Doyle Heffley, hosted a rally for afterschool programs on the Capitol Steps with legislative colleagues, afterschool advocates and Lt. Gov. Austin Davis.

March 29, 2023 - Expanding Reproductive Health Care

The Majority Policy Committee convened a hearing on the expansion of reproductive health care in Pennsylvania. Members heard testimony from Planned Parenthood officials and medical professionals. The hearing was hosted by Reps. Elizabeth Fiedler and Dan Frankel.

Solar for Schools Grant Program Legislation Introduction

State Rep. Elizabeth Fiedler held a press conference with legislative colleagues and labor, educational and environmental leaders to introduce legislation to create a grant program called Solar for Schools. This program would issue grants to schools for solar energy projects, including costs related to equipment, installation and maintenance of solar energy systems.

Announcing Legislation to Invest in School Facilities

State Rep. Elizabeth Fiedler joined state Sen. Tim Kearney in hosting a press conference where they called for the Pennsylvania legislature to put an end to toxic school facilities in Pennsylvania. They were joined by state Reps. Bob Merski, Bridget Kosierowski, and Tarik Khan and more Democratic lawmakers from the Pennsylvania House and Senate, as well as leaders from the Philadelphia and Scranton Federation of Teachers.

Abortion Freedom for All Rally

Rep. Fiedler joined organizations such as Planned Parenthood, PA Stands Up and more, along with Democratic House and Senate colleagues for a rally to protect abortion rights for the women and birthing people of Pennsylvania.
