Biography

Rep. Dave Kessler (D-130, Berks) was born in 1957 and grew up in Phoenixville. He earned a bachelor's of science degree in marketing/business from York College in 1979 and has owned and operated Tri-State Funding Inc., an equipment financing company for 21 years. He and his wife, Gail, were married in 1983 and reside in Oley Township with their two sons, Matt and Bob.

Kessler has dedicated much of his life to volunteer work, traveling by bus to Biloxi, MS with his two sons, where they helped in a church-sponsored project to rebuild houses destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. He also has worked as a fund raiser for Hurricane Katrina and Tsunami relief organizations.

Closer to home, he has volunteered with Volunteer Home Care, transporting seniors to and from medical appointments, as well as to Reading Phillies baseball games. He has served the Salvation Army for 19 years, Boy Scouts of America, and the Oley Youth League. He was a member of the Salem U.C.C. Consistory for 10 years, and served for eight years as a board member of the Pike Oley District Preservation Coalition.

Kessler has worked tirelessly for last 13 years as Oley Township supervisor and 15 years as a member of the Planning Commission to make Oley Township a better place to live. He was first elected to the Pa. House of Representatives in 2006.
