 Rep. Kortz, second from left, helps break ground for U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works along with Gov. Ed Rendell and other city and state officials. The company-funded project will make $1.2 billion in improvements that will cut air pollution emissions, create 600 construction jobs and guarantee continuation of the Clairton coking operation, which employs about 1,300 people.
