Krueger announces $1.6M in state grants in 161st Legislative District

HARRISBURG, March 16 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, announced that Commonwealth Financing Authority today approved $1.6 million in grants for several local projects in the 161 st Legislative District. The following were approved in the district: Concord Road Streetscape in Aston Township: Pedestrian safety improvements along Concord Road, $250,000. Walkable Wallingford in Nether Providence Township: Install sidewalks along Providence Road, $250,000. Civic access for Public Meetings in Nether Providence Township: Accessibility updates to the township building located in Nether Providence Township, $489,100. The project will install an elevator/automatic door opener and complete renovations to the walls, windows, and roof of the building entrance. Police Facilities & Equipment Upgrades in Chester Township: $288,075. Chester Township plans to complete building upgrades to the police department to reduce workplace hazards, improve ADA accessibility to the station, and upgrade the IT system. The project includes upgrading the building parking lot and sidewalks, the interior furnishings, evidence room, restroom, and replace the leaking roof and malfunctioning garage doors. Krueger elected to House Democratic Caucus administrator position

HARRISBURG, March 1 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger was elected to House Democratic majority leadership as administrator, becoming the first Democratic woman ever to earn the office, following Rep. Joanna McClinton’s election as speaker Tuesday. 2023 Tax Assistance Resources

Community Action Agency of Delaware County Free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). CAADC will be serving low- and moderate-income families in Delaware County. All services will be done by IRS trained and certified community volunteers and will aim to serve families who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit. CAADC will be providing assistance starting in late January until mid-April. Assistance is being provided by appointment only! Times and days vary by location. E-BLAST: Commonwealth Court decides in favor of equitable school funding

I’m happy to report that last week in a historic case, Commonwealth Court ruled in favor of Pennsylvania school advocates seeking to balance funding for all schools across the state. This case was originally filed in 2014 and included plaintiffs from Delco’s own William Penn School District. The case was filed on behalf of parents, school districts, and statewide organizations who argued that the commonwealth’s funding of K-12 public education is inadequate and violates the Pennsylvania Constitution. Krueger announces funding for area fire, EMS companies

HARRISBURG, Feb. 7 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware announced $173,715 in state funding to support fire and EMS services in the 161 st Legislative District. The grants originate from the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, administered by the Office of State Fire Commissioner. Krueger takes oath for another term as state representative
