Rep.-Elect Anita Astorino Kulik's Biography
Anita Astorino Kulik is the state representative for the 45th Legislative District.
She was born in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Her mother is a retired grade school teacher and her late father, Dr. Samuel Astorino, was a professor of history and law at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Anita graduated from Bishop Canevin High School and received her bachelor of arts and juris doctor degrees from Duquesne University.
Anita and her husband, Joseph, are the proud parents of Sarah Wrona, who is married to Joshua, and Joseph E. Kulik, who is married to Amanda.
Anita began her legal career as a law clerk in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. She has served as an adjunct professor, teaching paralegal courses, and has served as a clerk in the Pennsylvania Superior Court. She is the managing attorney for Kulik Law Offices, where she practices with her husband. Her practice has consisted of domestic cases, including custody and PFA matters, as well as real estate and estate matters. Anita has participated in various pro bono programs, the Allegheny County Guardian Ad Litem Project and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s "Operation Safe Surf" program.
Anita's political career started in Kennedy Township, where she has served as a township commissioner since 2003. She served as the township representative to the Char-West Council of Governments. Anita also served as a legislative assistant to her predecessor, state Rep. Nick Kotik.
She has been active with many community organizations, including conducting various fundraising activities for her local fire department and various youth organizations. Anita continues to be an active member of St. Malachy Parish and the Parkway West Rotary Club.
