Kulik: Neville Township project to benefit from state investment

HARRISBURG, Dec. 17 – An economic development project in Neville Township will receive a $150,000 investment from the state, state Rep. Anita Astorino Kulik, D-Allegheny, said today.

Neville Island Commons will use a state-awarded tax credit to support an 8,900 square foot expansion of an industrial building, allowing a leaseholder expansion that is expected to create 15 jobs.

“I am pleased to announce that the state has chosen to invest in this economic development project,” Kulik said. “By partnering with private companies and organizations, together we can leverage public and private investments to continue to redevelop and reinvigorate our communities.”

The project was among 136 selected to receive tax credits to support and leverage private investment in communities across the state.

The tax credit program, managed by the state Department of Community and Economic Development, provides the credits to business that donate capital to support projects that address neighborhood and community problems, including affordable housing, veteran’s initiatives, crime prevention education, job training and long-term community revitalization.
