HOUSE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP LETTERS
Rep. Bill DeWeese, Majority Leader |
Honoring Our VeteransNov. 11 is Veteran's Day. Please join us in honoring the men and women who put on their nation's uniform and made the sacrifices that let us be free to live and work and worship as we choose. From the men who stood alongside Washington to earn us our freedom to the men who reluctantly took up arms to preserve the Union in the Civil War to the men and women proudly defending our freedom abroad, America is what it is today thanks to those in uniform. The great military pilot Eddie Rickenbacker said "Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared." And in the words of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, "In the truest sense freedom cannot be bestowed…it must be achieved." We thank our veterans for their courage, their sacrifice and for what they achieved on our behalf. Please honor the veterans you know this Veteran's Day…and every day. Right now, the Pennsylvania Department of Military of Veterans Affairs is serving Pennsylvania's veterans and working on current military issues. Should Pennsylvania veterans have their own cabinet-level department? Click here to take our online poll.
