Protecting our progress

 

The 2008-09 state budget process began on Tuesday when Governor Ed Rendell laid out his plan for Pennsylvania's next fiscal year. We are encouraged by the governor's Protecting Our Progress blueprint because it strives to give working families a lift while stimulating the economy through targeted investments in business and infrastructure.

 

Working Pennsylvanians are looking for affordable health care, they need lower energy bills, they want a good education for their kids and they deserve it. Businesses are ready to break ground on new facilities and new technology, they seek an educated work force, and they need a solid infrastructure.

 

House Democrats are committed to delivering a budget that meets those needs.
