HOUSE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP LETTERS
March 19, 2008
Rep. Bill DeWeese, Majority Leader
Rep. Keith McCall, Majority Whip |
House Democrats deliver comprehensive health-care and energy plans
The House Democrats' movement toward better access to health care and energy independence reached a high note this week as the House voted to send the Senate the significant portions of our energy and health-care reform agenda.
Pennsylvania ABC would provide hundreds of thousands of low-income working people access to affordable health insurance and assist employers in offering coverage to their workers. Our energy strategy would offer consumers and power-generating utilities more tools to cut energy bills through investment in conservation and alternative energy, as well as reduce our reliance on foreign fuels.
By now it should be clear to our colleagues in the Senate that the House Democrats have begun in earnest a sincere dialogue on the state budget, with health care, energy, economic development and education being the heart of our public policy concerns.
You can help enact these measures by visiting our action center and telling your state senator and Senate leaders to engage in this debate.
We invite you to watch House session and committee proceedings live via streaming video as the House Democrats' agenda moves forward.
