House Democrats introduced the Marcellus Compact – a six-bill legislative package aimed at fixing Gov. Tom Corbett’s industry-friendly Marcellus Shale law (Act 13 of 2012), parts of which have already been ruled unconstitutional by Commonwealth Court. The Marcellus Compact represents House Democrats’ promise that the interests and concerns of Pennsylvanians come first. That’s in stark contrast to the Corbett/Republican Marcellus Shale law, which was written for, and by, the multi-billion-dollar oil and gas industry.
