Over 200 families attend McClinton’s Fall Fest 2018

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 2 – State Reps. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila./Delaware, and Jordan Harris, D-Phila., in partnership with the 12th District Police Station and The Common Place, welcomed more than 200 families to their annual Fall Festival.

“This fest was so much fun. Children came dressed as their favorite characters for Halloween to receive candy in a healthy and safe environment, and we were able to showcase the services that my office can help with,” McClinton said.

The event featured children’s games, food, a trick-or-treat candy giveaway, and health and wellness vendors who provided information on the importance of exercise and healthy eating.

Attendees also had the opportunity to gather information on a variety of state programs such as the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicaid, the state Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

McClinton said she wanted to thank Wake Fern – The Fresh Grocer, Herr's, and the University of Penn Dental School for donating food and providing free oral hygiene kits to all participants, respectively.

Community resource vendors included Catholic Social Services, Philadelphia Streets Department, Philadelphia Health Department, After School Activities Partnerships, Lankenau Medical Center, The Village, ASAP Philly, and Turning Points for Children (CUA-9).
