Biography

Rick Mirabito began serving in the state legislature in 2009. His road to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives began across state lines, spanned the globe and led him to Lycoming County, where he represents the 83rd legislative district. He is in his second term of office.

Two days after he was born, Rick's father passed away unexpectedly, leaving his mother to raise five children as a single parent. Because she had an education, she was able to return to the workforce as a teacher. For this reason, among others, Rick believes that education is essential to protect all of our citizens from the unexpected events of life.

Rick graduated from Cornell University and Boston College Law School and became an attorney. Part of his legal experience included serving as court counsel to the Supreme Court in the small island nation, the Republic of Palau. In 1989 Rick served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Malcolm Muir in Williamsport, the city he now calls home with his wife and son.

There he built a business investing in and renovating substandard buildings in the area. Once renovated, these buildings are rented, generating tax revenue for the community.

Rick's education, diverse career and business expertise increased his desire to serve the public and led him to the point at which you elected him your state representative. His experience as a business owner is the driving force behind his vision for economic development.

As your representative, Rick works to expand the opportunities for economic development to help business create jobs. He fights to protect the environment and our quality of life as we see the development of the Marcellus Shale.
