Mullins lauds budget for focus on workforce development, education
HARRISBURG, Feb. 5 – State Rep. Kyle Mullins offered the following observations about the 2019-20 budget proposal presented today by Gov. Tom Wolf.
“It was encouraging to hear the governor talk about workforce development, supporting education at all levels and continuing investments that empower businesses to create good-paying jobs.
“The strength of Pennsylvania’s workforce will determine the state’s future economic growth. It is imperative that we develop job-training programs that help people learn the skills that lead to long-term employment in careers that will allow them to raise a family.
“From expanding early childhood development opportunities to supporting our teachers and investing in colleges, the governor’s plan recognizes the importance education plays in determining the future success of our state.
“I know this is just the first step in the months-long budget process and I look forward to learning more details as well as getting to work on the committees that I have been appointed to this session,” the freshman lawmaker said.
