Longietti to host second Senior and Health Education Fair July 18
HARRISBURG, July 7 – State Rep. Mark Longietti, D-Mercer, will host his second Senior and Health Education Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 18 at the Shenango Valley Mall.
Longietti said the event will feature free health screenings and door prizes, along with information on several state-sponsored programs that assist seniors. Approximately 50 exhibitors are scheduled to attend the event with information on programs that help seniors with prescription drugs, health insurance and much more. In addition, Longietti said his constituent service office staff will be available to help seniors with property tax and rent rebate applications and other state-related issues.
There will be informational seminars throughout the day for those who attend and farmer’s market coupons also will be available, as well as information about the switch to digital TV.
"This event is a great opportunity for seniors to learn more about the programs the state has to offer and also ask any questions they might have about health care, Social Security or other state-related issues," Longietti said. "Last year's senor fair was very popular and well attended. I hope we can top last year's success and continue to provide seniors with the information they need."
