Longietti announces applications being accepted for House of Representatives scholarship program
HARRISBURG, Dec.14 – State Rep. Mark Longietti announced that the Pennsylvania House of Representatives will again offer four-year scholarships to two Pennsylvania high school seniors who plan to attend a Pennsylvania college, university or career school.
"Recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, community service and financial need," said Longietti, D-Mercer. "I urge Mercer County students to apply."
The deadline for application is March 1. Longietti said forms can be downloaded at www.pahousescholarship.com or by contacting his constituent service office at (724) 981-4655.
This is the sixth year in a row the House of Representatives is giving the scholarships. It is funded by private, tax-deductible donations, including gifts from former and current House members. It is administered by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, which uses the nowU Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program at the Pennsylvania Department of Treasury.
