Sainato pays tribute to Korean War veterans and their families
NEW CASTLE, June 6 – State Rep. Chris Sainato, D-Lawrence/Beaver, hosted a ceremony Thursday night honoring Korean War veterans and family members of veterans in the 9th Legislative District.
Sainato said 200 veterans and family members of veterans were honored at the ceremony. The participants each received a citation from the state House of Representatives and a medal honoring their service to the country.
"Our Korean War veterans are getting up in age and we just wanted to thank them for their military service," Sainato said. "Many people in my age group would not have had the opportunities that we've had if it wasn't for these men and women."
The ceremony was held at American Legion Post 343 in New Castle.
