Sainato: Veterans representative to visit local office
HARRISBURG, June 27 – State Rep. Chris Sainato, Lawrence/Beaver, said as Democratic chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, he has been able to secure a veteran outreach representative from the American Legion to speak with veterans about programs they may be eligible for because of their service to the country and Commonwealth.
Sainato said Brian Morris, formerly with the Governor's Veteran Outreach Program and from the American Legion, will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 at his constituent service office 20 Mercer St., Z-Penn Building in New Castle.
"I look forward to having a representative from the American Legion come to my office to assist veterans with specific concerns," Sainato said.
Veterans are reminded to bring proof of military service with them, but Sainato said if they don't have it, that is fine.
Information will be provided regarding the following:
· Veteran housing benefits
· Veteran financial assistance benefits
· Veteran employment benefits
· Veteran and dependent education benefits
· Other state-sponsored veteran benefits.
