Stay Warm Beaver County workshop held today
Lawmakers help vulnerable residents afford heat this winter
BEAVER COUNTY, Feb. 22 – Beaver County's state legislative delegation today partnered with the state Department of Environmental Protection to offer a workshop to help local residents who are struggling to heat their homes this winter.
State Reps. Vince Biancucci, Sean Ramaley and Jaret Gibbons met with local residents at the Penn State Beaver Campus for "Stay Warm Beaver County Workshop."
The lawmakers said the workshop provided plenty of helpful information to residents on how low-income and fixed-income residents in need of help with energy bills this winter can access assistance from the state, local utility companies and nonprofit organizations.
Many Beaver County residents gathered at the workshop to find out more about state programs like the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, receive helpful home weatherization tips, and learn more about opportunities for help managing the cost of their heating bills from utility companies.
Representatives of human and social service agencies from across Beaver and Lawrence counties were also in attendance to find out more about how they can help Beaver County's vulnerable residents make it through the winter.
The representatives encouraged residents who were unable to attend today's workshop to contact their offices for more information about help with heating assistance or any other state-related matter. Heating assistance information also is available online at www.staywarmpa.com or by calling 866-550-4355.
