Rep. Biancucci reminds students: FAFSA deadline May 1
MONACA, April 18 – State Rep. Vince Biancucci, D-Beaver, is reminding college-bound students that the deadline to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is approaching.
The FAFSA is a free application used to determine if students qualify for almost all forms of need-based financial aid, including the Pennsylvania State Grant, federal Pell Grant, many scholarships, institutional awards and low-cost student loans.
The deadline for submitting the FAFSA is May 1.
Students can visit www.pheaa.org/fafsa to access the 2008-09 online FAFSA and a FAFSA on the Web worksheet to help walk them through the application process step by step. Students may also file online at www.educationplanner.org or www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Those who can should file electronically because it is faster and easier, Biancucci said. Paper FAFSAs will only be sent to people who request them by calling 1-800-443-3243.
More information about the FAFSA is available by contacting Biancucci’s office at 724-857-2220.
