Majority Policy Committee looks at alternative education
HARRISBURG, March 16 – State Rep. Robert F. Matzie, D-Allegheny/Beaver, this week participated in a House Majority Policy Committee meeting to explore the topic of alternative education.
The meeting looked at Step By Step Learning, a research-based literacy program.
"The meeting was a good opportunity for us to learn more about Step By Step Learning and the positive results it has created," Matzie said. "Programs such as Step by Step Learning can provide new and effective tools for Pennsylvania's teachers."
Among those presenting at the briefing were Mary Doe Donecker, vice president, Step By Step Learning; Carole Geary, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, Pleasant Valley School District; and Alisa Willey, director of federal programs and curriculum, Union City School District.
