Wheatley to host appropriations chairman for district tour Tuesday
PITTSBURGH, March 1 – State Rep. Jake Wheatley, D-Allegheny, will host House Appropriations Chairman Dwight Evans, D-Phila., Tuesday for a tour of several sites in Pittsburgh, including:
8:30 a.m. -- Rivers Casino – the lawmakers also are scheduled to meet with executives of the casino, which may be private;
10:15 a.m. -- August Wilson Center for African American Culture, 980 Liberty Ave.
Later in the day, the legislators plan to visit the Connelley Learning Center and the Green Innovators program. Those details will be announced if available.
Wheatley serves on the House Appropriations Committee, which has the lead role in the House in shaping the state budget. He chairs the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education.
