Hearing Tuesday in Pittsburgh will focus on mental health issues

I am using my authority as chairman of the House Health and Human Services Subcommittee on Health to hold public hearings around the state on how Pennsylvania is helping people with mental health issues and people attempting to recover from drug or alcohol abuse.

I invite you to attend the Pittsburgh hearing, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 in the Homestead Grays Room of the Allegheny County Human Services Building, 1 Smithfield St. This hearing will focus on corrections, mental health courts and the stigma that is too often attached to mental illness.

Please contact my office if you have questions about this or any concerns that involve state government.
