Residents encouraged to attend Larimer planning presentation
HARRISBURG, May 28 – State Rep. Joe Preston, D-Allegheny, is encouraging Larimer community residents to join the East Liberty Concerned Citizens Corporation for an open community planning presentation at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at the Kingsley Association, 6435 Frankstown Ave., 2nd floor.
The purpose of the meeting is to review results and gather further public input on a series of planning sessions being conducted for the economic development and renewal of the Larimer neighborhood, also known as the Larimer Community Plan.
A number of stakeholders will be in attendance, including state Sen. Jim Ferlo, city councilman Rick Burgess, representatives from the city of Pittsburgh's Urban Redevelopment Authority, Jackson Clark Partners and Ora Lee Carroll, executive director of ELCCC.
Preston said Larimer recently was selected as a Blueprint Community Program by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh. The program includes a housing program, assistance to small businesses, a community lending program and grants for first-time homebuyers.
