Gulf War bonus applications available in DeLuca’s office
PENN HILLS, April 16 – State Rep. Tony DeLuca, D-Allegheny, has announced that his constituent service office has applications for a program that gives bonuses to military veterans who served in the first Persian Gulf War.
DeLuca said the program provides veterans with $75 per month for each month they served in the war, up to a maximum of $525. In addition, the program pays $5,000 to prisoners of war and to the families of troops who died in active service in the 1990-91 Persian Gulf Conflict.
"I am urging Persian Gulf war veterans in my district to stop by my office and get an application for the bonus program,"DeLuca said.
The Allegheny County legislator stated that to be eligible for the bonus program, a veteran must have served active duty in the Persian Gulf Theater of Operations between Aug. 2, 1990 and Aug. 31, 1991 and received the Southwest Asia Service Medal. Also, the bonus applicant must have been a legal resident of Pennsylvania during time of service and must have served under honorable conditions.
DeLuca's office is located at 7205 Saltsburg Road in Penn Hills. The telephone number is 412-793-2448.
The deadline to apply for the Gulf War bonus program is Aug. 31, 2015.
DeLuca invites constituents to visit his Web site at www.pahouse.com/DeLuca for instructions on how to apply for the bonus program.
